William Bullamore - born 1838 Peterborough, Cambridge. William married Annie Surname unknown April 1878.  They had 2 children. Between 1867 and 1873 William was living in Stamford but by 1881 was living City Road, Peterborough.  He was a baker and grocer.

ELIZABETH BULLAMORE - baptised 24 October 1841 St Johns, Peterborough. Elizabeth liked the amateur dramatics. 21st and 22nd February 1867 she played Miss Laurelia Durable in 'Raising the Wind', a "laughable farce" by J Kenney. It was held at the Wentworth Assembly Rooms, Peterborough in aid of the funds of the 6th Northamptonshire Rifle Volunteers. 18th and 19th December 1867 Elizabeth played Cicely in 'My Turn Next', a farce by T J Williams Esq., and Marriette in 'Our Wife, the Rose of Amiens', a "highly successful Drama" by H M Morton Esq., for Peterborough Amateur Dramatic Society at the Wentworth Assembly Rooms. Elizabeth married William Henry GROCOCK 3 June 1868 St Marys, Peterborough. They had 3 children.  By 1871 the couple were living at 115 Upper Kent Street, Leicester where they had a shop. William was a confectioner/grocer/sweet shop owner. 3 March 1873 Elizabeth was present at her sister's, Annie Eliza Bullamore, wedding.  One of Elizabeth's friends was Dr Ernest Parker. He wrote "A Doctor Tells" c1937 and "In and Out of My Consulting Room" c1933. He used to live in the prison area of Leicester. In the 1930s Dr Ernest Parker lived in Potter Heigham, Norfolk and in 1937 'The Limes', Catfield (Calfield), Norfolk.  Elizabeth, for some reason did not like the French - called them "muck, filth". Used to mention a Count Amery.  (is this something from the French Revolution?). Elizabeth lived with her daughter, Gertrude, at Skipworth Street, Leicester during World War I and then moved with them to Guildford Street in 1917. She moved into the Freeman's Cottages sometime after then but then moved back to Guildford Street sometime before she died in 1927. She had gone blind by this point. Elizabeth died March 1927, predicting she would die with her grandson, Douglas. She died 3 weeks after Douglas.

Annie Eliza Bullamore - baptised 5 April 1846 St John's Church, Peterborough.    Along with her sister Annie was involved in amateur dramatics. 21st and 22nd February 1867 she played Mary (a servants maid) in 'An Ugly Customer', a "celebrated farce, in one act" by T J Williams Esq. Also played Alice in 'The Porter's Knot' a "highly successful domestic Drama" by John Oxenford Esq. Held at Wentworth Assembly Rooms, Peterborough in aid of the funds of the 6th Northamptonshire Riffle Volunteers.  18th and 19th December 1867 Annie played Lydia in 'My Turn Next', a farce by T J Williams Esq., for Peterborough Amateur Dramatic Society at the Wentworth Assembly Rooms. Annie married Frederick KNIGHT 3 March 1873 St Lukes, Leicester. They had one child. By 1881 Annie was living High Street, Stilton, Hunts. Frederick was a Baker, Grocer and Butcher.

Lizzie Grocock - born 16 December 1870 Leicester.  Married Alfred Davis POCHIN 21 March 1893 at Register Office, Leicester.  They had 2 children. Lizzie played the banjo. Lizzie died 23 March 1956 Hammerwich, Staffordshire.  She is buried in the churchyard there. Alfred had died 23 years previous.

Alfred Grocock - born 13 June 1872 Leicester.  Unfortunately Alfred died at 3 months old in September 1872.  He is buried in Welford Road Cemetery.

GERTRUDE DALE GROCOCK - born 2 January 1881 Leicester.  Named "Dale" after Scottish friends.  Married George Edwin Page KNIGHT 9 October 1909 at Register Office, Leicester.  Gertrude was a Sunday School Teacher at St George's Church where she met George Knight who was in her class. They had 8 children. Gertrude died 1961 Leicester. Her husband had died the year before.  She was cremated at Gilroes cemetery, Leicester.

GERTRUDE DALE GROCOCK - born 2 January 1881 Leicester.  Named "Dale" after Scottish friends.  Married George Edwin Page KNIGHT 9 October 1909 at Register Office, Leicester.  Gertrude was a Sunday School Teacher at St George's Church where she met George Knight who was in her class. They had 8 children. Gertrude died 1961 Leicester. Her husband had died the year before.  She was cremated at Gilroes cemetery, Leicester.

George Henry Knight - born 4 April 1910 Skipworth Street, Leicester.  Married Mary COOPER 1939 Register Office, Leicester.  They adopted one son.  George died 24 May 1976.

Gertrude Agnes Knight - born 18 October 1911 Skipworth Street, Leicester. Known as Aggie.  Married Ernest GIBSON 12 November 1941 St Barbabas Church, Leicester.  They had one daughter.  Aggie left school at 14 to work at Sabbins shoe factory on York Road then at 'Rawsons' Evington Valley Road. After the two companies amalgamated Aggie went to work at 'Hendersons' shoe factory.  She retired there in 1970.  Aggie died 18 December 2002 Sutton Coldfield at the age of 91.  Ernest died the following year.

ELLEN ELIZABETH KNIGHT - born July 1913 Skipworth Street, Leicester.  Married Hubert Needham LETTS July 1942 St Peters Church, Leicester.  They had 2 children.  Ellen and Bert met at the Palais dance hall on Humberstone Road.

Esther Margaret Knight - born 25 July 1914 Skipworth Street, Leicester.  Left school at 14 years. Baptised 19 March 1933 at St James the Greater at 18 years old.  Confirmed 28 March 1933 by the Bishop of Leicester at St Barnabas Church. Was a girl guide in the 17th Leicester St James the Greater Pack. Became a Tawny Owl 18th Nov 1938 aged 24.  Was a Land Army Girl during World War II.  Served from 15 Sept 1941 to 30 Nov 1950. Jarratt's Farm, Sharnford, Leicestershire.  Esther stayed on at Jarratt's Farm until her death, 29 October 2003.  She is buried in the churchyard of St Helens, Sharnford near her friend, Ernest Cooper, with whom she lived at Jarratts Farm.

Charles Edwin Knight - born 15 June 1915 Skipworth Street, Leicester.  Married Winnie SHEPHERD about 1939 St Phillips Church, Leicester.  Charlie served in the army during WWII. Winnie died in the 1950s and Charlie married a second time to Rosita AUDZANS, from Latvia, 2 June 1956 St Peters, Glenfield, Leicester. Charlie used to paint in his spare time and there are various paintings of country scenes held by different members of the family.  Charlie died 31 January 1989.

Douglas Knight - born 1917 Guildford Street, Leicester.  Unfortunately Douglas died at the age of 9/10 28 February 1927.  Aggie, Ellen and Esther all talked of their brother with great affection.

William Harold Knight - born 1 January 1920 Leicester. Enlisted into the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders 24th May 1938. Bill was due to be discharged when World War II was declared. . Served BEF France - 20th September 1939 to 30th May 1940. Served in India - 11th April 1942 to 31st March 1944. Served in Burma - 1st April 1944 to 13th November 1945.  Transferred to the Royal Artillary 30th December 1944 as a Gunner. Military Conduct Exemplary. Medals - 1939-45 Burma Star, Defence Medal and War Medal
Married Irene Ethel DAINTY 22 December 1951 St Phillips Church, Leicester.  They had 2 children. Bill and Irene moved to live in Australia June 1963.  Bill died 4 June 1995 Sydney, Australia.  He was buried 8th June 1995 at Rookwood General Cemetery, Lidcombe, Sydney, NSW.

Albert Knight - born 29 April 1923 Guildford Street, Leicester. Esther spoke fondly of Albert. Used to hide Albert in the house as children and Spot, the Jack Russell, would be sent to find him.  Albert died 25 May 1967 Leicester. He had lung cancer.
